When talking about permission, other than cancould, may, or might, we can also use be allowed to.
Examples:
     I'm allowed to stay up as late as I like.
     You aren't allowed to take photos in this sacred area.
     Was Julie allowed to leave work early?
     Tony won't be allowed to drive his father's car to the party tonight.

We use be supposed to for what people expect to happen because it is the normal way of doing things or because it has been ordered or arranged.
Examples:
     When you've pad, you're supposed to take your receipt to the counter over there.
     You aren't supposed to tell anyone my secret.

Be can be auxiliary (helping) verbs or ordinary verbs.

Auxiliary verb

We are eating lunch.    We are in the cafeteria.

 

The ordinary verb be has a number of different uses: am, is, or are.  The ordinary verb be functions as a linking verb.
Examples:
     Bangkok is a wonderful place.
     I am hungry.
     Are you being serious?
